WINNIPEG - Head Coach Paul Maurice announced earlier today that goaltender Ondrej Pavelec has undergone successful arthroscopic surgery on his injured knee and will miss the next 2-3 weeks, at least. Pavelec is expected to return before the end of the year and Maurice did not rule out the possibility of veteran getting back in the net sometime before the Apr. 8 regular-season finale, but there is no official timeline given the nature of this injury and recovery time for a goaltender, in particular.

Pavelec was injured Feb. 7 vs. Minnesota and has missed the past 10 games.

The 29-year-old was making progress and was close to returning last Friday after completing a full practice the day before, but he did not pass the off-ice component of his rehab and has been ruled out ever since.
