Paul Stastny led his team with a goal and two assists. USA goaltender Jimmy Howard stopped 25 of 27 shots on goal to earn the win.
The victory over the Swiss gives the Americans a 4-2-0-1 record in the round robin, good for second place in Group A. They will face Finland in the quarter-final round on Thursday night.
Jim Slater didn't hit the scoresheet but went 75% again in the face-off circle (9-3) and played 13:18 minutes of ice time. Slater has two goals and one assist and six penalty minutes through the seven games played in the round-robin portion of the tournament.
