Team USA was battling for a quarter-final position heading into Sunday's game against Finland but found a way to get past the home team, and they did it convincingly, beating them 5-0.

Jimmy Howard lead the Americans between the pipes turning away 18 shots, while Kari Lehtonen stopped 25 of 30. Lehtonen left the game with just under eight minutes to play when he injured himself after being taken down by an American player crashing the net. Petri Vehanen stepped in for the remaining 7:36.

Jim Slater was held off the scoresheet against Finland. He played 10:23 of ice time with no shots on net. Through six games played, Slater has two goals and one assist, six penalty minutes and 13 shots on goal in 94:34 total minutes played.

Team USA passed Finland in the standings, but the two teams are likely to meet again in a couple days, in the quarter-final.
