WINNIPEG - A four-game win streak came to an end for the Winnipeg Jets on Monday night, as they were shutout 4-0 by the Vancouver Canucks.
The majority of the offence came in the first period as the visitors tipped three pucks past Connor Hellebuyck, then added an empty netter in the third period to give the Canucks their first win since Feb. 17.
As for the Jets (13-7-1) - who flexed their ability to rally from behind twice in the last three games - there was no comeback magic on this night.
"That's just the way the game goes sometimes. Sometimes the bounces are going to go your way, sometimes they're not," said Mark Scheifele on the redirection success the Canucks had. "That's where you can't beat yourself up about it. You've got to keep playing. We had our chances to score. We've just got to capitalize and that's about it."

The difference on this night was the Jets weren't able to capitalize on those chances, as they were shutout for the first time this season.
They had their looks. Kyle Connor had a team-high seven shots. The team overall had 15 of their 27 total shots in the game in the final 20 minutes.
Captain Blake Wheeler said himself he was also guilty of some over passing in the game. Especially after a line shuffle in the second period that put Paul Stastny with Wheeler and Scheifele.
"It was funny, when he and I played in Munich together that was our problem right off the bat, we tried to pass the puck into the net. And there were a couple of opportunities tonight where both of us just want to make that next play," said Wheeler.
"We'll get it cocked and loaded for the next time, if we're out there together. He's just always in the right spot. No matter who he's playing with, he's been a great addition to any line."
For the second time in as many games against Vancouver (9-14-2), the Jets fell behind in the opening period.
First, Nate Schmidt's point shot deflected off Andrew Copp's stick in the high slot and past Connor Hellebuyck to make it 1-0 just 8:28 into the opening period.
On the next shift, J.T. Miller's redirection - also from a Schmidt point shot - beat Hellebuyck over the left shoulder to make it 2-0.

Vancouver added one more for good measure before the end of the period. On a power play that the Jets prevented from getting set up for the majority of Neal Pionk's two-minute slashing minor, Nils Hoglander got a stick on a Tyler Myers wrist shot for a 3-0 Canucks lead after 20 minutes.
In the second period, the Jets were limited to five shots on goal which prompted head coach Paul Maurice to switch the lines up.
With Stastny moved to Scheifele's line, Pierre-Luc Dubois was put in the middle between Connor and Nikolaj Ehlers.
"Pierre-Luc felt today that he was feeling better and ready to take that, so I was just looking for a window," said Maurice.
The trio generated three scoring chances, one of the high-danger variety, in just six minutes of five-on-five action.
"I think there's lots there with Connor, Dubois, and Ehlers, so we'll talk about it a little bit, check on everyone's health after the game. After that, certainly not through the second period but into the third, we started to see some action from the lines."
The Jets finished with 27 shots on goal in the game, 15 of which came in the final 20 minutes as they tried to get back in the game.
"Especially when you are down a few goals you've got to have a shooter's mentality," said Wheeler, who felt the Jets got back to that a bit more in the final period. "You've got be assertive when you do have those chances because they are obviously sitting back and protecting a lead. We were one shot away from having an opportunity to get back into it. It just never came tonight."

The Jets have an opportunity for redemption on Tuesday night against the Canucks. So far this season, the Jets are 5-0-1 following a loss of any kind, and 2-1-0 in the back half of back-to-back games.
"We haven't let things fester for too long, even losses that weren't pretty. That's what I love about this group, is we've shown the ability to bounce back," said Wheeler. " That doesn't guarantee it's going to go our way tomorrow. But I do certainly think that tomorrow we'll have a bit better mindset in terms of what we're trying to do when we get some of those scoring opportunities."
