Jets This Week - TEMPLATE

by Eric Postma / Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets opened the 2012-2013 campaign with a bang, taking three of their opening four games. Blake Wheeler immediately returned to his 201-2012 season form notching 3 goals over the week, while Ondrej Pavelec tended goal for all three Jets wins.

With the early success, Winnipeg currently holds top spot in the Southeast Division, which is good enough for third place in the NHL's Eastern Conference.

Next week the Jets will stay at home to host the Washington Capitals (October 23), Florida Panthers (October 25) and Detroit Red Wings (October 27). This will be the first appearance by the Red Wings at MTS Centre.

RECENT GAMES

Jets 0, Lightning 1

The Winnipeg Jets threw 28 shots at Lightning goaltender Dwayne Roloson but he had a solution for each one as the Jets fell 1-0 to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Vincent Lecavalier was the lone goal scorer as he tallied the game's only goal with 40 seconds to play in the second period on the power play.

Strong goaltending at both ends of the ice proved to be the difference in the tilt tonight with just one goal on the board.
