Jets select Logan Stanley 18th overall in the 2016 NHL Draft

The Winnipeg Jets announced today that they have selected defenceman Logan Stanley with the 18th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft.


The Jets acquired the 18th and 79th overall picks in a trade with the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for the 22nd and 36th overall selections.


Stanley, an 18-year-old from Waterloo, ON played for the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL during the 2015-16 season. He tallied 17 points (5G, 12A) and 103 penalty minutes in 64 games, and put up one point (1G) in five playoff games. Additionally, Stanley was selected to play in the 2015-16 CHL Top Prospects Game. Stanley has recorded 21 points (5G, 16A) and 163 penalty minutes in 123 OHL games over the last two seasons.


Internationally, Stanley played seven games for Canada at the 2016 IIHF World Under-18 Championship, recording one assist and 12 penalty minutes.
