The Winnipeg Jets introduced the winner of the JetsTV Kid Reporter contest on Wednesday, Dec. 17. The winner of the first JetsTV Kid Reporter Contest, announced during the Jets’ game on Dec. 16 versus the Buffalo Sabres, is six-year-old Brooke Ratz of Brandon, MB.
As the winner of the JetsTV Kid Reporter Contest, Brooke will have the opportunity to meet and interview players and staff from the Winnipeg Jets. Her interviews will be featured on JetsTV and winnipegjets.com. Brooke, whose favourite player on the Jets is Blake Wheeler, had her video chosen among nearly 100 entrants into the first JetsTV Kid Reporter Contest.
Speaking on behalf of the Winnipeg Jets, Director, Digital & Marketing Services Andrew Wilkinson said, “We were overwhelmed with the response to the first JetsTV Kid Reporter Contest and the quality of the video entries surpassed our expectations. There were many talented, young candidates and the Winnipeg Jets are thankful for everyone that participated.”
Brooke will be introduced to the Jets spotlight at tonight’s Winnipeg Jets Skills Competition when she will be interviewed by TSN’s Sara Orlesky live on the MTS Centre scoreboard. Jets fans are encouraged to follow JetsTV in the coming months for Brooke’s interviews, which will be posted throughout the course of the season.
