Leon Gawanke of the Manitoba Moose has joined the four members of the Winnipeg Jets at the IIHF World Hockey Championship in Finland, and in his second game, he got on the scoresheet.

GERMANY 5, KAZAKHSTAN 4
Germany improved to 5-0-0-1 on the tournament by holding off Kazakhstan, and moved into second place in Group A in the process.
Leon Gawanke, playing in his second game of the tournament, assisted on a second period power play goal by Lukas Reichel. Gawanke's pass from the left circle was hammered home from the right circle, and gave Germany a 4-2 lead at that point.
The entire game was a back and forth affair, with Germany erasing 1-0 and 2-1 deficits in the opening 20 minutes before finally taking a lead of their own with 1:27 remaining in the opening period.
The 4-2 German lead evaporated with Pavel Akolzin's goal with 31 seconds remaining in the second and Nikita Mikhailis' tally 38 seconds into the third.
But the game-winner came from Yasin Ehliz with 12:52 left in regulation, and gave Germany the result they're looking for.
Next up, Germany takes on the undefeated squad from Switzerland on Tuesday.
