The Winnipeg Jets are pleased to announce today they have acquired forward Kenndal McArdle from the Florida Panthers in exchange for centre Angelo Esposito.

McArdle, 24, played in 33 games for the Florida Panthers over the past three seasons recording three points (1g, 2a) and 47 penalty minutes. In four pro seasons, the Toronto, ON native has played 166 games with the AHL’s Rochester Americans collecting 68 points (34g, 34a) and 279 penalty minutes. McArdle also played six games for the ECHL’s Florida Everblades in 2007-08 where he collected four points (3g, 1a) and 26 penalty minutes.

McArdle finished his junior career with the Vancouver Giants helping them win the Memorial Cup in 2007. He also earned a gold medal with Team Canada at the IIHF Under-20 World Championships in Sweden in 2007.

McArdle was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the first round, 20th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
