The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, in conjunction with the St. John’s IceCaps & the American Hockey League, announce IceCaps’ goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has been selected to play in the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Turning Stone Resort Casino in Utica, NY.

Hellebuyck, a fifth round pick of the Winnipeg Jets in 2012 and former Mike Richter Award winner as the top goaltender in U.S. college hockey, is enjoying a stellar rookie campaign in St. John’s. The 21-year-old has played in 24 of the IceCaps’ 35 games to date, recording 13 wins with a 2.54 goals-against average, a .923 save percentage and two shutouts.

The Commerce, MI native sits second in the AHL in saves (719) and fifth in minutes played (1418:16), leading rookie netminders in both of these categories. Hellebuyck was also named CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 23, when he went a perfect 4-0-0 and allowed just three goals on 119 shots (0.74 GAA, .975 SV%), including two shutouts.
