Adam Lowry's Season in Quotes

by Mitchell Clinton (@MClinton007) / Winnipeg Jets

ON HIS FIRST REGULAR SEASON GAME AT MTS CENTRE

I'm excited. I got my first exhibition game there this year, and that was a pretty exciting moment. The fans are really behind the team, and I think we're really excited to get back there and play in front of them.

ON HIS FIRST GOAL

It's something I've dreamed about for a long time. It was a pretty special feeling to tip it, and see the puck go through his legs. I was pretty excited.

ON HIS FIRST FIGHT

I wouldn't necessarily say I'm a big fighter. It happens a few times a year. Depends on the play I guess. We had some big hits early on, and they have some players that are going to push back. They have some super stars they need to protect, and I think that's where it started from… A couple of my friends texted me about it.

ON HIS TWO-GOAL NIGHT IN DALLAS DEC. 9, 2014

It's always nice to get a couple, especially when you're missing key guys… I had my blade open, I was going to try and sauce it to Perreault back door, but I figured it would be good to get that puck on net. I'd be lying if I was saying I was trying to shoot five hole. It would have been nice if it went short side shelf, but they count just the same, so I was pretty happy I caught him with a bit of a change up and it went five hole.

ON HIS FIRST NHL SEASON

Our team and our organization, we made tremendous strides obviously. Having the first post season berth, it's something for us to be proud of. That being said, there's still a lot of work to do. Once we got there, you realize just how competitive these teams are. Anaheim is a great team. We thought going into this that we had a good team too. Obviously there is room for improvement.

I think, especially in the second half of the season my season started to come around. I started to put up better numbers and I felt like I started to contribute a bit more. When Bryan (Little) went down, and Mark (Scheifele) and I kind of had to slot up a hole, it really opened my eyes that, you can play against the top players in this league. It gave me a lot of confidence, it started to carry over to the playoffs. I'm going to try and take that and carry that into next year.

There are a lot of things you can look back on and be proud of, obviously. After your first full season in the NHL, it's definitely a dream come true. Being able to play in your first Stanley Cup playoffs and being able to experience that crowd, I couldn't have asked for a better start to my career.
