Institute 3E is Long Island's only facility to offer strength and flexibility classes specific for figure skaters. We collaborated with top coaches to design three classes that cover the needs of all the figure skaters. Classes are 55-minutes and are taught by a strength coach with a senior level competitive figure skating background.
STRETCH & MOBILITY
This class helps skaters decrease injury risk and improve performance by teaching flexibility exercises. Instead of being taught traditional stretching exercises, skaters learn cutting edge techniques specific for the sport.
This class helps the skater develop strength, coordination, and footwork. Exercises are specifically developed to polish on-ice performance.
POSTURAL & ABDOMINAL STRENGTH
This class helps the skater improve alignment and stability using core strengthening exercises and body lengthening. Exercises are designed to decrease sport-specific imbalances that can lead to fatigue and injury.
We provide hands-on coaching for those figure skaters looking to have the competitive edge. The skater undergoes a comprehensive physical assessment and receives a custom-tailored program. Elements of all three classes are taught in a one-on-one 60-minute session.
