Witt Set To Return, Okposo Out

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

Brendan Witt
The Islanders announced several player moves on Tuesday afternoon.

Brendan Witt is expected to be activated off the injured reserve list today after missing the past 12 games with a knee injury. Brett Skinner––who skated in 11 games with the Islanders, and was a +2 with no points––was re-assigned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL.
Meanwhile, Kyle Okposo sustained an arm injury during the Islanders' 2-1 shootout victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night, and is expected to miss one week of playing time. Okposo has two goals and three assists for five points in 18 games this season.
Mike Sillinger––who has not skated in a game this season while rehabbing from hip surgery––has agreed to a conditioning stint with the Sound Tigers. Sillinger is scheduled to suit up in Bridgeport on Sunday against the Philadelphia Phantoms at 4 pm, on Friday, November 28 at home against Hartford, and on Saturday, November 29 on the road in Worcester.
