Steve Webb, along with Monica the Ice Girl and Sparky, made their way over to New Hyde Park Middle School bright and early this morning for the next stop on the “We’re All Islanders” school assembly tour.  The assembly took place in the auditorium of the school, which was filled with 7th and 8th graders who had just rolled out of bed to quite a treat.  Steve spoke to them about the importance of teamwork and explained that the students in the room are just like the players on the ice.  Just like the Islanders have guys from Canada, the US, Slovakia, and other nations, the school has kids from different areas of town or went to different elementary schools, yet just like the players, they must all work together and form friendships in order to be successful at accomplishing what they set out to do, whether it be winning the Stanley Cup or solving a math equation together.  As the assembly concluded, all the students walked away with a nice Islanders gift bag.
