Two Islanders prospects, Oliver Wahlstrom and Logan Cockerill, were named to 2019 U.S. National Junior Team Preliminary Roster, ahead of the 2019 World Junior Hockey Championships.
Wahlstrom, the Islanders' 2018 first-round pick (11th overall) and Cockerill, the Islanders' 2017 seventh-round pick (201st overall), were two of the 29 players invited to Team USA's camp, which takes place Dec. 15-17 in Everett, WA.

Wahlstrom has four points (3G, 1A) in 12 games in his freshman year at Boston College. The 18-year-old has represented Team USA at two U-18 WJCs (2017, 18) and at the 2016 World U-17 Hockey Challenge.
Cockerill has five points (3G, 2A) in 13 games in his sophomore season for Boston University. The 19-year-old previously represented Team USA at the 2017 U-18 WJCs and at the 2015 World U-17 Hockey Challenge.

Both Wahlstrom and Cockerill won a gold medal at the 2017 U-18s, while Wahlstrom earned a silver medal at the 2018 U-18s.
USA Hockey expects to name its final 23-player roster for the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship by Dec. 23. The tournament runs from Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Vancouver and Victoria, BC.
Islanders 2018 first-round pick (12th overall) Noah Dobson was named to Canada's World Junior Selection Camp roster, while Isles 2018 third-round pick (72th overall) Jakub Skarek was named to the Czech Republic's preliminary roster.
