Vote for the Top Goal of the 2013 Season: Day 1

Tavares 3/14 vs. TBL - 7% has selected the nine goals from the Islanders 2013 season, and it's up to you, the fans, to decide which will move on in our tournament bracket. Come back daily beginning August 12 to select each day's winner, and on August 22, we'll unveil which goal you've selected as the best of 2013. Voting runs from 3:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. each day.

Today, the voting is between three John Tavares goals, and only one will advance to the semi-finals. The candidates are:

Feb. 23 at Buffalo

Tavares battles behind the goal, and outworks the Sabres defense before beating goaltender Ryan Miller to put the Islanders ahead 3-0 early in the third period.

May 7 vs. Pittsburgh

After overcoming two deficits in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series against the Penguins, Tavares weaves through the Pittsburgh zone to put the Islanders ahead 5-4 midway through the third period.

March 14 at Tampa Bay

Midway through a scoreless game, the Islanders power play converted its only opportunity of the night. Mark Streit's point shot changed directions twice before finding its way to Tavares' stick for a tap-in goal.
