The "We’re All Islanders" School Assembly program, sponsored by SUPERCUTS, National Grid and the Lighthouse on Long Island, made two more stops this week, continuing their tour across Long Island to educate their youngest fans about the importance of teamwork. On Monday, the 900 children of Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School in Greenlawn learned about teamwork and then on Wednesday, it was the 325 students of Cherry Lane Elementary in Carle Place that were treated to the exciting, yet educational assembly. The schools both got a taste of a new video put together by ITV that had some of the younger players in the Islanders organization situated in a classroom setting going over the different aspects of teamwork with their teacher, coach Scott Gordon. Arena hostess Dina, along with some help from Sparky, talked to the children about how their schools are run just like the Islanders organization and used interactive and entertaining demonstrations to help solidify the points they were making. Each child visited also walked away with a great Islanders giveaway.
