There is never a dull moment at Islanders Iceworks. The facility, which ranks as one of the premier hockey rinks on Long Island, is constantly abuzz with various camps for the young and young at heart. Last month, Iceworks played host to the Islanders Prospects Camp, during which the Islanders had more than 40 of their finest young players skate for a week in an attempt to show the coaches what they can contribute. Even while that was occurring, various other camps were going on concurrently, and other NHL players who live in the area—like Eric Nystrom, Chris Higgins, and Mike Komisarek—were frequent visitors to the building for an opportunity to skate on Iceworks’ smaller and more private back rink.
With Prospects Camp now finished, Iceworks will once again be returning to its primary duties as host to open skates and camps for ice skating and hockey enthusiasts across Long Island. With just over a month remaining in the summer, it is not too late to still sign up for one of several camps at Iceworks. Below is the list of available camps for the rest of the summer.
