May 22, 2018 - Lou Lamoriello is hired as President of Hockey Operations.
Under Lamoriello, the Islanders have posted a 152-102-34 regular season record since the start of the 2018-19 campaign. The team has qualified for the playoffs in three of the four seasons, advancing to the second round in 2019 and the third round in both 2020 and 2021. Over that span, the Islanders 2.56 GA/GP is second in the NHL.

May 22, 2021 -The Islanders beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-1 in Game 4 of their First Round series, tying the series at two games apiece. Josh Bailey, Ryan Pulock, Oliver Wahlstrom (1G, 1A) and Jordan Eberle scored for the Islanders, while Ilya Sorokin stopped 29-of-30 shots in the win.
One off-ice highlight from the game is New York Jets Guard Dan Feeney smashing a beer can on his head to rile up Nassau Coliseum.
