The Skinny: Draft Lottery Preview

The NHL Draft Lottery will be held on Saturday night to determine the which teams will pick first, second and third at the draft, which will be held June 22-23 in Dallas. 

Picks 4-15 will be announced during the "2018 NHL Draft Lottery Show" on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET; NBC, CBC, TVAS). The top three selections will be revealed during the second intermission of Game 2 of the Western Conference Second Round between the San Jose Sharks and Vegas Golden Knights (8 p.m. ET; NBC, CBC, SN, TVAS).

The Skinny - Game 82

Isles 4, Detroit 3 (OT)  

John Tavares scored his franchise-record 11th overtime goal and Mathew Barzal tied Bryan Trottier's club record for assists as the Islanders rallied from a 3-1 deficit for a 4-3 overtime win over the Detroit Red Wings before a sellout crowd of 19,515 at Little Caesars Arena.

Anders Lee became the first Islander since Jason Blake in 2006-07 to score 40 goals and Ryan Pulock ended his rookie season with a power play goal with 30 seconds to play in regulation. Both of those goals were set-up by Barzal, the presumed Calder Trophy winner. Pulock also earned the assist on Tavares' season-ending goal.

Isles 2, Rangers 1

Thomas Hickey and Anthony Beauvillier scored 2:32 apart in the second period to overcome a 1-0 Ranger lead and Jaroslav Halak made 34 saves as the Islanders closed out the home season by defeating the Rangers 2-1 before a crowd of 14,152 at Barclays Center.

The win allowed the Islanders to finish with an above-NHL .500 record on home-ice (19-18-4) as they swept the season series from the Rangers for the second time in three seasons. The Isles are 6-0-0 in Brooklyn all-time against the Blueshirts.

Isles 5, Philadelphia 4

Mathew Barzal scored two goals, including the game-winner with 6:28 to play as the Islanders overcame a late Flyer rally to defeat Philadelphia 5-4 on Fan Appreciation Night before a crowd of 11,951 at Barclays Center.

Barzal's winning goal, his third point of the game, came just 28 seconds after Claude Giroux had tied the game with the Flyers' third goal of the third period, and gives him 82 points in his rookie campaign.

The Flyers had an opportunity to clinch a playoff spot but trailed the game 4-1 through 40 minutes before their rally fell short

Travis Hall scored twice but it was Blake Coleman's shorthanded goal late in the difference that proved to be the difference as the New Jersey Devils held on for a 4-3 win over the Isles before a sellout crowd of 16,514 at Prudential Center.

The Devils improve to 4-0-1 in their last five games while the Isles fall to 2-8-0 in their last ten games.

The Isles went 1-7-0 at home in March, as they fall to 5-15-1 at home in 2018.

Andrew Ladd scored the game-winning goal with 2:03 to play and Jaroslav Halak made 33 saves for his first victory in 40 days as the Isles defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-3 before a crowd of 15,284 at Canadian Tire Center.

Mathew Barzal assisted on the last two goals, giving him 58 on the season. Barzal's assists allowed him to pass the rookie totals of Teemu Selanne (56) and Mario Lemieux (57).
