Jason Chimera looked like he had earned the Isles a point with a late goal in his 1,000th NHL game but Danny DeKeyser had another idea. DeKeyser's shot ricocheted off two Islander defenders for his first goal since his overtime goal in Brooklyn in December broke a 4-4 tie with 27.9 seconds to play as the Detroit Red Wings ended the Isles' 7 game point streak with a 5-4 win over the Islanders before a sellout crowd of 20,027 at Joe Louis Arena.
It's the first Islander regulation loss under Coach Doug Weight (5-1-1). The Red Wings snapped a 5-game winless streak (0-2-3).
