The Islanders will host a Teddy Bear Toss in conjunction with their holiday toy drive on Saturday, December 19 when they take on the Montreal Canadiens at 7 p.m.  Fans who donate teddy bears can bring them into the Coliseum to throw on the ice during the second intermission. The merchandise stands will have teddy bears available for purchase. Toy collection and voucher hand out will take place outside of gates 5 and 16, as well as the main box office.

All toys and teddy bears will go towards the John Thiessen Foundation, which provides hospitals and child-care facilities with therapeutic and recreational equipment, offering sick and needy children toys throughout the holiday season. The John Thiessen Foundation will collect the toys starting at 6 p.m.

"The Toy Drive and Teddy Bear Toss is a great way to include our fans in our holiday charity efforts," said Chris Dey, President, New York Islanders. To give back to those in need during the holiday season is an extremely important part of the Islanders off-ice efforts.

Fans who donate new unwrapped toys or plush teddy bears will receive one (1) free ticket voucher per family. Vouchers are redeemable for one of the following three games: Dec. 21 vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning, Dec. 23 vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs, or Jan. 21 vs. the Florida Panthers.
