On Saturday night, John Tavares claimed the title of most accurate shooter in the NHL.
The Islanders’ captain won the DraftKings Accuracy Shooting contest at the NHL’s Skills Competition, hitting four targets on five shots in 12.294 seconds.
Tavares, taking passes from Jaromir Jagr and Nicklas Backstrom, was dialed in hitting four straight targets after ringing his first shot off the post. He was methodical, going bottom left, bottom right, top left and top right.
Tavares, the Metropolitan Division captain at Sunday’s All-Star Game also participated in the Discover NHL Shootout.
The Eastern Conference won the Skills Competition 29-12. The All-Star Game is set for 5 p.m. Sunday. Follow Tavares throughout All-Star Weekend.
