Following a red-eye flight home Sunday night, and a team practice Monday afternoon, Islanders forward Jeff Tambellini took some time to visit with the NYI Booster Club Monday night for its monthly meeting. Tambellini arrived to a very well-attended meeting, during which all the members couldn’t wait to find out more about the young player. Tambellini spoke about his childhood and growing up with a father—former Islander Steve Tambellini—who was always involved with the game of hockey. He went on to talk about his education and hockey career at Michigan State, and how important it was for him to play hockey as well as get an education. Before leaving, Tambellini made sure to answer all of the questions that the members had for him, as well as sign autographs for everyone in attendance. “It is always nice to come down and meet with some of the fans that are in our building every night cheering us on,” said Tambellini. “I look forward to seeing everyone at the Coliseum on Saturday.”
