Jeff Tambellini

Jeff Tambellini, who agreed on Saturday to a conditioning assignment with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, scored the game-clinching goal in a shootout win on Sunday.

Tambellini’s snapshot over Lowell starting goalie Jeff Frazee’s glove in the fifth round of the shootout clinched the 4-3 come-from behind victory. The win marked the fifth time this season that the Sound Tigers entered the third period trailing, only to come back and earn a victory.

Trailing 3-2 with just over two minutes remaining in the third, Jack Hillen took a pass from Mike Iggulden and snapped a shot through the legs of Frazee to tie the game, 3-3. It was Hillen’s fourth goal of the season

Trevor Smith and Sean Bentivoglio each scored in regulation for the Sound Tigers, and Peter Mannino made 43 saves in the game to earn the victory.

The Sound Tigers next head to Norfolk, Virginia, where they will take on the Admirals next weekend on both Friday and Saturday. The next home game for the Sound Tigers is set for Friday, December 19th when they take on the Springfield Falcons for the first time this season.
