Islanders forward Jeff Tambellini arrived in town on Monday to join the Islanders I.C.E. Tour, as it made its way around Long Island. Tambellini arrived onsite at Young People’s Day Camp in Central Islip for the first day of camp with hundreds of kids eagerly awaiting his arrival. Tambellini signed autographs and took pictures with everyone in attendance. Before leaving camp, Tambellini took part in a street hockey pick-up game with the campers. With Tambellini captaining one team and Sparky captaining the other the campers had a street hockey experience like no other.
“Today we were at the first day of camp for the kids,” Tambellini said. “The kids played on the interactive games, got some autographs, and played some street hockey. All in all it looked like they were having a great day. I had a great time today and it was a great way to kick off my week back on Long Island. I am looking forward to the upcoming events.”
