Sparky had a very busy Saturday morning. Before heading into the city for the Tribeca Film Festival, Sparky made his way to Mitchell Field to take part in two events. First he made his way to the Long Island Children’s Museum, where many town officials and visitors were on hand to see the unveiling of the restored Nunley’s Amusement Park carousel. The Islanders pitched in and paid to have one of the horses of the carousel restored. Sparky was on hand to join the other people who restored the horses to take the first ride on the carousel. Everyone laughed as they saw a big dragon ride around on a little horse.
After riding the carousel, Sparky made his way across the street into Mitchell Field to take part in the Family Fun Run portion of the Long Island Marathon. Sparky, along with some of his friends like Ronald McDonald, lined up along the track and cheered as the youngsters ran their version of the marathon. After completing the race, many of the children came over to Sparky to get his autograph and take some pictures. Sparky had a great time and hopes to see all of his new friends again very soon.
