SPARKY SPREADS CHRISTMAS JOY IN PATCHOGUE

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

Sparky kicked off the Holiday Season this weekend by attending the Annual Patchogue Christmas Boat Parade on Sunday, November 19th.  The parade is a very unique one, taking place on the Patchogue River as it runs out of the Great South Bay.  Rather than have a bunch of cars pull some floats, the parade instead features over 30 boats decorated in Christmas lights coasting down the river.  Along with the Christmas lights from the boats, fireworks provided by Grucci also illuminated the night.  Sparky stood on the bow of one ship waving to his cheering Islander fans and really having a great time being a part of the unique holiday parade.  The parade ended with the big man himself, Santa Claus, riding the final ship and waving to the children letting them know that he will be coming to town soon.
