Sparky made his way out to W.S. Mount Elementary School in Stonybrook bright and early this morning to attend the Annual Walk-A-Thon To Benefit the Sunrise Fund. The event is part of a "Children Helping Children" Campaign for the Sunrise Fund, which supports the Pediatric Oncology program at Stony Brook University Medical Center.  The Sunrise Fund at Stony Brook was established to raise awareness about childhood cancer and to raise funds for specific projects including a respite center, a playroom, extended support services, facilities and programs that meet our families growing needs, and vital research into the causes and treatment of childhood cancers. Sparky had a great time on the 1.5 mile walk through a nature preserve where he got to take pictures and hang out with some of his biggest fans, and can’t wait to see them again soon!
