Sparky Attends Malvern Mel's Groundhogs Day

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

Sparky was up bright and early on Saturday for Groundhogs Day as he made his way into Reese Park in Malvern to visit his good friend, Malvern Mel, and see what he saw in the forecast for the changing of seasons.  Along with hundreds of other friends and fans, Sparky discovered that Malvern Mel did in fact see his shadow, and that winter will be extended an extra 6 weeks.  The morning was also filled with fun and games for everyone involved and Sparky made his way around the crowd to greet some of his biggest fans.  After taking pictures with tons of people and helping in choosing a winner in the best sign contest, Sparky said goodbye to his friend Mel the Groundhog and will see him again next year.  It was a very fun morning for everyone who came down to the park.
