by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

On Sunday, Sparky made the drive up I-95 to visit some of his other mascot friends in Bridgeport for the Sound Tigers' Kids' Opening Day.  Mascots from teams all around the area joined Sparky and Storm the Sound Tiger for some fun during the game.  During the first period, the mascots beat up a peanut vendor, stealing his peanuts and throwing peanuts to fans in the stands.  Other mascots in attendance included CoCo from the Hershey Bears, Blaze from the Connecticut Sun and Rocky from the New Britain Rock Cats.  All of the mascots took part in an intermission broomball game. Storm scored the game-winning goal to earn the victory for his team.  Sparky had a great time visiting his friends and fans in Bridgeport and the crowd all went home happy as the Sound Tigers defeated the Hershey Bears 4-0.  For more information about the Islanders' AHL affiliate the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, visit them on the web at
