Although it was damp outside on Sunday morning, there was still an exciting and fun filled atmosphere out at William Floyd Elementary School in Shirley, the home of this year’s Special Olympics Long Island Region Spring Games. The Islanders Family Fan Fest made their way out east bright and early that morning to be a part of the Olympic Village for the games. The Islander mobile was set up along with tons of great giveaways for all the athletes, volunteers, and families attending the games. Other attractions at the games included a petting zoo, fire truck displays, as well as cardboard cutouts for photos. The weather held up and, making the day even better.
