Seidenberg Agrees to One-Year Deal

The New York Islanders announced today that Dennis Seidenberg has agreed to terms on a one-year deal.
Seidenberg, 35, scored 22 points (five goals, 17 assists) in 73 games with the Islanders last season, while leading the club in plus-minus rating with a plus-25 mark. It was the Schwenningen, Germany, native's 14th National Hockey League season and first with the Islanders.

The Philadelphia Flyers selected Seidenberg in the sixth round, 172nd overall, of the 2001 NHL Draft. He's played 831 career games with the Flyers, Phoenix Coyotes, Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers, Boston Bruins and Islanders, totaling 246 points (44 goals, 202 assists). Seidenberg won a Stanely Cup Championship with Boston in 2011.

Seidenberg spent parts of his first three seasons in North America with the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League, winning a Calder Cup Championship in 2005. Prior to his North American career, Seidenberg played with Adler Mannheim in Germany.
On the international stage, Seidenberg has represented Germany at three Winter Olympics (2002, 2006, 2010), three World Championships (2001, 2002, 2008), the 2002 World Cup, two World Junior Championships (2000, 2001) and the 1999 World Under-18 Championships. He also played for Team Europe at the 2016 World Cup Of Hockey.
