Seidenberg Agrees to One-year Deal

BROOKLYN (September 28, 2016)- The New York Islanders announced today that Dennis Seidenberg has agreed to terms on a one-year deal.
Seidenberg, 35, scored 12 points (one goal, 11 assists) in 61 games with the Boston Bruins last season. It was the Schwenningen, Germany, native's thirteenth National Hockey League season and seventh with the Bruins. Seidenberg won a Stanely Cup Championship with Boston in 2011.

The Philadelphia Flyers selected Seidenberg in the sixth round, 172nd overall, of the 2001 NHL Draft. He's played 758 career games with the Flyers, Phoenix Coyotes, Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers and the Bruins, totaling 224 points (39 goals, 185 assists).
Seidenberg spent parts of his first three seasons in North America with the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League, winning a Calder Cup Championship in 2005. Prior to his North American career, Seidenberg played with Adler Mannheim in Germany.
On the international stage, Seidenberg has represented Germany at three Winter Olympics (2002, 2006, 2010), three World Championships (2001, 2002, 2008), the 2002 World Cup, two World Junior Championships (2000, 2001) and the 1999 World Under-18 Championships. He's currently competing with Team Europe in the 2016 World Cup Of Hockey.
