Arena Hostess Dina and Sparky continued to spread the message about the importance of teamwork this week. Despite a shortened school week due to the school closings on Election Day, the duo were still able to visit 4 different schools and see more than 2,800 children. The duo had a blast as they held a total of 9 fun filled assemblies over the course of those four schools, teaching the young students about teamwork through fun and interactive demonstrations, a video of our current players talking about teamwork, and closing the assembly off by working together to fill the auditorium with a very loud “Let’s Go Islanders” chant. Schools visited this week included Jackson Annex Elementary, Obama Elementary, and Fulton Elementary, all located in Hempstead, as well as a trip way out east to Eastport Elementary School in Eastport. The program is still scheduled to hit over 80 more schools between now and March.
