Sports Illustrated hockey columnist Darren Eliot was at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum twice this week. Eliot worked the Islanders victory over the Flyers for VERSUS and the team's domination of the Thrashers in his role as color commentator on Atlanta TV.
He came back with this impression: as in 2007, do not count out the New York Islanders in 2008.
And his Sports Illustrated column was written before today's stunning, come-from-behind 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks.
