Pokka to Play in Gold Medal Game

Pokka has one goal and three assists in the WJC

Islanders prospect Ville Pokka will play in Sunday’s World Junior Championship game, after Finland defeated Canada 5-1 in semi-final action on Saturday. The 2012 second-round pick had an assist in the 5-1 rout over fellow Islanders prospects Griffin Reinhart and Adam Pelech. The Finnish blueliner has one goal and three assists in six tournament games. The win sets up an all-Scandinavian final, as Finland battles Sweden for the gold medal Sunday at 1 p.m. eastern time. The Canadians will play the Russians for bronze at 8:30 a.m.
