Parrish Back in the Fold

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the Islanders’ AHL affiliate, have signed forward Mark Parrish to an amateur P.T.O. (Professional Tryout) contract. Last season, Parrish played with the Minnesota Wild and in 66 games registered 30 points (16 goals and 14 assists). A proven leader, Parrish served as team captain several times throughout his two years with the Wild. 

A native of Bloomington, Minn., Parrish is a veteran of 660 NHL games and has scored 208 goals and 164 assists for 372 points. Parrish was part of the Islanders organization from 2000-2006. During that time, Parrish became a mainstay on the Islanders’ power-play and had his best season during the 2001-02 when he tallied 60 points (30 goals and 30 assists). 
The 31-year old Parrish was originally drafted by Colorado in the third round (79th overall) in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
