The Islanders' best young players arrive at Iceworks on Sept. 10
Fans are invited to watch the future of the Islanders as the team hosts a three-day rookie camp at Islanders Iceworks in Syosset in exactly one month.
The camp begins on Sept. 10 and concludes on the morning of Sept. 12, when the prospects and veterans will leave for the first week of Islanders training camp in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
"It's an exciting time for us to see where our prospects are in terms of their development," said Islanders general manager Mike Milbury. "Development from within our organization is a key aspect of our approach to how we do business, even more so now in the new world of the NHL. We have several youngsters who are on the cusp of making the jump to the next level, so I encourage all of our fans to check us out."
Islanders draftees such as D Chris Campoli, D Bruno Gervais, LW Sean Bergenheim, F Jeremy Colliton, D Ryan Caldwell, LW Steve Regier, LW Jason Pitton and W Blake Comeau are just some of the prospects expected to attend the three-day camp. Also in the mix are 2005 first rounder C Ryan O'Marra and 2005 2nd round pick D Dustin Kohn.
