Islanders vs Flyers game will also include prospects Comeau and Colliton

When the Islanders face the Flyers tonight in a pre-season game in Trenton, it will mark the Islander debuts of 2005 top draft picks Ryan O'Marra (first round) and Dustin Kohn (second).

"I've been looking forward to this since the day the Islanders drafted me," said O'Marra. "The scrimmages are great, but it's nothing like wearing the Islanders uniform against another NHL team. I'm sure it's going to be an experience I will never forget."

Several players will be appearing in their first pre-season game of 2005, after the Islanders beat the Rangers last night, 5-1, before a wildly enthusiastic crowd of more than 12,000 fans. Besides O'Marra and Kohn, they are: defensemen Joel Bouchard, Tomi Pettinen and Radek Martinek; and forwards Wyatt Smith, Travis Brigley, Kevin Colley, 2004 second round pick Blake Comeau and 2003 second round pick Jeremy Colliton.

"This will be a good opportunity to take a look at a lot of players competing for spots this season, along with kids that we expect will have an impact soon down the road," said Islanders head coach Steve Stirling.

It is expected the Flyers will have in the lineup such notables as Mike Rathje, Joni Pitkanen, Simon Gagne, Jeff Carter and Mike Richards. Antero Niittymaki and Jamie Storr will be the goaltenders.
