The Islanders continued to take their teamwork seminar on the road as the "We're All Islanders" school assembly program made its next stop at Oldfield Middle School in Huntington on Monday, November 19.  The 6th graders got a real treat as instead of going to their 2nd period class, they made their way into the auditorium to hear the former Islanders speak.  Both Steve and Eric explained to the kids that teamwork is a key part in tackling obstacles, whether it be in the game of hockey or everyday life.  By working as one cohesive unit rather than separate parts, a team can work much more efficiently and effectively than someone working alone.  This was seen best when Sparky brought three students up onto stage to have them work together and get their peer fully dressed in goalie equipment faster than a teacher who had to do it all on her own.  The message was received by the students and the assembly ended with a very loud "Let's Go Islanders," chant.  Each 6th grader also received a gift bag filled with some great Islander goodies.
