The Islanders are among the NHL’s elite in Group Sales this season thanks to the creativity and work ethic of Group Sales Director Adam Jacobs and his staff - plus innovative initiatives such as Pucks Into Bucks and Islanders Assist.
“This news is a testament to the work ethic of our staff, and our VP of Ticket Sales, Ralph Sellitti,” said Jacobs. “We are focused on making a group outing to an Islanders game an experience of a lifetime for our fans. Our community programs lead the way with group ticket options like Islanders Assist fundraising, youth hockey programs, and RexCorp Islanders Inspire."
These group sales numbers include the highly successful RXR-RexCorp Islanders Inspire program which is run through the Islanders Children’s Foundation and has brought more than 5,000 children to the games so far this season who otherwise would not have been able to attend.
"We are also using a lot of non-traditional ways to be at the forefront of group tickets," said Jacobs. "We are creative by the way we get group offers out to individuals like programs selling tickets in Costco, AAA member offers, and our corporate employee benefit discount program.”
Three community initiatives have played a role in generating the impressive attendance numbers – Pucks Into Bucks, Islanders Assist and RXR-RexCorp Islanders Inspire. These initiatives have benefited thousands of area charities and causes. The Islanders are proud to support the community, among other ways, with these three programs.
Pucks Into Bucks is a program aimed for youth hockey teams. This initiative allows teams to sell tickets, which they purchased from the Islanders at a deeply discounted and exclusive price. Any amount sold over the ticket value is theirs to keep for their team and/or league to buy ice time and equipment or pay for travel expenses.
The Long Island Royals alone have bought 1,000 tickets through the Pucks Into Bucks program and have raised hundreds of dollars to help support their outstanding organization.
Islanders Assist is similar to Pucks Into Bucks but this program is aimed for organizations looking to raise money. The Islanders have sold thousands of tickets through the Islanders Assist Program, including organizations like the Nassau County American Red Cross who have purchased 400 tickets. Organizations benefit from this program by earning a piece of the profit from each ticket sold.
Having launched in 2007, RXR-RexCorp Islanders Inspire is a program designed for organizations or individuals to purchase a block of tickets, which is then donated to a group of children who are granted a unique experience by attending an Islanders game at the Nassau Coliseum. The Islanders provide everything else that’s necessary for the children to come to the game, including transportation.
RXR-RexCorp Islanders Inspire was a huge success right from its inception. Since then, thousands of kids have seen their first Islanders game due to the generosity of others.Click here
