The Islanders participated in Fleet Week 2016 on Wednesday, May 25th by attending the annual ships disembark that took place at Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. Fleet Week, NYC, now in its 28th year, is the city’s time-honored celebration of the sea military services. It is an opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsman. As the hundreds of service men and women came off their ships they were greeted by family, friends and fellow New Yorkers all cheering. All service men and women who stopped by the Islanders table went home with some great Islanders apparel as a small token of appreciation.
During this week as we celebrate Memorial Day we continue to thank all the men and women who sacrifice their lives protecting our freedom. On behalf of the New York Islanders we thank you!
