New-Look IslandersTV Player Launched

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

The New York Islanders have become the first NHL team to launch the new NHL video player. Available for free at and delivered through a sleek, new broadband console, IslandersTV gives fans a completely new experience for interacting with the team and the NHL's digital content.

The difference with the updated IslandersTV is how it is programmed. Fans will now enjoy 10 dedicated channels of Islanders and other NHL multimedia, all programmed around distinct themes, such as Game Day, Islanders Entertainment, Frozen In Time, Isles Files, What's New and League-generated videos.
In 2006, the Islanders launched IslandersTV, the first video player of its kind in the NHL. Since then, all 29 other NHL teams have followed suit with consoles of their own.
"We are proud to be a big part of the video revolution that the NHL is leading," said Islanders Vice President of Communications Josh Bernstein. "We owe it to our incredible fans to deliver around the clock Islanders content and cutting edge technology. The new IslandersTV video player will do just that."
To increase fan access to players and teams from around the NHL, Islanders also will feature, “NHL:LiveWire,” and dedicated to bringing fans live events and original programming from all 30 teams. Whether it’s a morning skate, a news conference, or live coverage of special events such as the NHL All-Star Game or AMP Energy/NHL Winter Classic, “NHL:LiveWire” will carry it as it happens.
