Adriana Capri, a 14-year-old girl from Plainview, was diagnosed with a life-altering neuromuscular condition called Friedreich’s Ataxia, which currently has no cure.
Adriana is displaying a great deal of courage in her fight against FA, but she’s not alone, as the New York Islanders are coming to her aide, raising money as part of Muscle Skate for Adriana Saturday August 29 at Islanders Iceworks in Syosset at 6 p.m.
Islanders General Manager Garth Snow, Assistant Coach Doug Weight and former NY Jets quarterback and WFAN host Boomer Esiason headline the guests at Saturday’s charity game. They’re joined by Islanders alumni Eric Cairns, Miroslav Satan, Eric Boulton, Arron Asham and Radek Martinek.
Admission is free and donations of any amount are welcomed at the door. Fans who wish to help but can’t attend can make a donation by check directly to the Capri family, FARA – Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance, or MDA – Muscular Dystrophy Association. Please include in honor of Adriana Capri when donating to these organizations.
Come out for an evening of great hockey and support a worthy cause. We are all Islanders and together we can help find a cure for FA.
