Morning Skate Updates: Islanders vs. Stars

News, notes and quotes ahead of the Islanders' game vs Dallas

by Cory Wright WrightsWay / New York Islanders

The New York Islanders are set to face off against the Dallas Stars on Thursday night at 7 p.m. (MSG+; 660AM, 101.9FM - WFAN, 88.7FM - WRHU). Read the Game Preview here. Read Game Notes here.

The Lineup:

Scott Mayfield will draw into the lineup for Johnny Boychuk, who is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. The rest of the lineup remains the same, which means Thomas Greiss starts in goal, while Andrew Ladd and Cal Clutterbuck will both miss their second straight games.

Injury Updates:

Boychuk is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, but Interim Head Coach Doug Weight said it's not serious, but rather precautionary.

"It's nothing serious," Weight said. "Precautionary, but he's a little uncomfortable, so I expect him real soon, hopefully this weekend."

Ladd (day-to-day, upper body) and Clutterbuck (day-to-day, lower body) both participated in the team's morning skate, but aren't ready to return to action.
