The New York Islanders are set to face off against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. (NBCSN, 660AM - 101.9FM WFAN, 88.7FM WRHU, 103.9FM LI News). WFAN's Boomer and Carton have the radio call for the game.
The Islanders held morning skate on Wednesday at Northwell Health Ice Center where Jack Capuano announced his lineup and addressed the media. Keep reading for news, notes and quotes from morning skate. Read the Game Preview here.
Ryan Strome returns to the lineup taking out Alan Quine. Scott Mayfield replaces an injured Adam Pelech on the blue line and Thomas Greiss will start in goal.
Strome has missed the previous two games as a healthy scratch and will likely play at center on Wednesday. Mayfield will play his second game of the season on Wednesday, as he made his season debut against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Nov. 14. Greiss will make his third straight start and fourth in the Islanders last five games. He stopped 25-of-26 shots on Monday vs. Calgary.

They Said It:
Ryan Strome on returning to the lineup:
"I'm excited to play. I worked hard the past couple of days and certainly beats a bag skate and watching the game. It's a good opportunity and looking forward to a fun game, it's always a fun game playing Pittsburgh.
Ryan Strome on what he needs to bring to the lineup:
"Keep being hard and I think I need to create a little bit more. At the end of the day we have the score goals and I have to be one of the guys that does that. There are a lot of us right now that I'm sure would like to have a little bit more, but it's a process and all I can control is myself and my work ethic."
Thomas Hickey on what the Islanders need to do as a group:
"We have to score more goals, simple as that. We trust all our goalies but we need to score more goals. You're not going to win too many games scoring two goals… but we have to get to 3 or 4 goals and that has to be the norm. I think our PP is coming along, especially that first unit, so that's a good sign, but that's the biggest thing, special teams and scoring more."
Patric Hornqvist Takes Morning Skate For Penguins:
The Penguins are hoping to have Patric Hornqvist back in the lineup on Wednesday night against the Islanders. Hornqvist has been out with a concussion since Nov. 16.
UPDATE: Barring any setbacks, Hornqvist will be in the lineup for the Penguins.
Matt Murray In Goal:
Matt Murray will start against the Islanders. He is 7-1 this season and is riding a three-game winning streak.
