Morning Skate Updates - Islanders vs. Jets 11/27/13

by Cory Wright / New York Islanders
The Islanders open a four-game homestand tonight against the Winnipeg Jets. The Isles took the 2012-13 season series 2-0-1 and took the only meeting at Nassau Coliseum. Below are some news pictures and quotes from today’s morning skate.

Lineup Notes/Changes: Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Peter Regin are in for Colin McDonald and Eric Boulton at forward. Aaron Ness draws in for Radek Martinek on defense.

Andrew MacDonald and Thomas Hickey are both in tonight for the Islanders. Hickey sat out Monday's practice and MacDonald left after taking a puck high, but both were on the ice Tuesday and will suit up tonight.

Poulin: Kevin Poulin gets the nod in goal tonight for the Islanders, starting his fourth consecutive game. Poulin has appeared in each of the Islanders last seven games.

Cizzlin': Casey Cizikas has points in five straight games (3g/2a).

From the Coach:
"We've got some guys that are banged up on the back end, but it gives other guys an opportunity. To me, that's what it's about. Those guys have to play within the system, play within their game. It's a great opportunity if you're in their shoes."

Home Comes to Hamonic: Travis Hamonic, a native of St. Malo, MB, gave an extended interview to the Winnipeg media. He talked about his play, the Islanders, living on Long Island and being invited to Team Canada orientation camp. Click here to listen to the full interview
