Gionta Returns to New Jersey:

Saturday's game is an important one for Stephen Gionta, as the former Devil faces off against his old team for the first time.
"Absolutely, anytime you're going to face a former team, it's something that you look forward to," said Gionta, who has three assists in seven games for the Islanders. "Tonight that's not going to be any different, but again, it's a huge two points for us with a team right behind us in the standings."

Gionta was a popular guy on Saturday afternoon, as the former Devil greeted former teammates, coaches and staff at Prudential Center. Gionta played 270 games for the Devils from 2010-16, the only other NHL team he's known.
"It was definitely a little weird walking in, but good seeing familiar faces," Gionta said at Saturday's morning skate. "Seeing a lot of the people, even the people that work in the building, stuff like that. Just good catching up with everyone."

Cammalleri A Healthy Scratch:

Mike Cammalleri will be a healthy scratch for the Devils tonight against the Islanders. Cammalleri has 30 points (10G, 20A) in 51 games this season. Beau Bennett will take his place on the Devils' second line.
