Mayfield Plays In St. Louis:

St. Louis native Scott Mayfield will play in his hometown for the first time as an NHL player on Saturday night. Mayfield has five points (1G, 4A) in 16 games this season and was thrilled to get a chance to skate at Scottrade Center for the first time.

"It's pretty special," Mayfield said. "It's cool to just get out and look around. I've been to plenty of games here, so now playing is pretty nice."

He's returning to the lineup after being a healthy scratch for two straight games, but Weight said it was indicative of how well his seven defensemen were playing rather than an indictment of Mayfield.

"It's the right thing to do," Interim Coach Doug Weight said of playing Mayfield at home. "He's been playing great. It's not a choice of the heart - you want to make those at times to support your team - but total trust in Scotty. He's played really well and taken a step this year as a pro."

Blues Roster Notes:

Per NHL.com/blues Chris Pinkert:

Blues Head Coach Mike Yeo said Carter Hutton will start in goal and Ivan Barbashev will take Jori Lehtera's spot in the lineup. Colton Parayko, who didn't play in the third period Friday with an undisclosed minor injury, is questionable for tonight.

They Said It:

Doug Weight on finishing the trip and keeping pace in the standings:

"It's crucial, you look at the fact that we're 5-2-1 and say that's a good trip no matter what. I guess it would be most times, but people are winning. It's that time of year where teams are going to get points and we're one point up right now. We have to win the game."

"We've gained some confidence on the road as a team. Playing on the road the style we have to play. We've played a lot of different teams with different elements. The record right now means nothing. We have 75 points and teams have 74, 76, 71 and we have to win a game. It would be a great trip if we can win."
